7. Coma, astigmatism and bokeh

Coma, or rather aberrations of higher degrees responsible for characteristic 'wings', are quite conspicuous in case of the Fujinon 1.4/33 but only at the maximum relative aperture. If you stop down the aperture by 1 EV the diode, even positioned in the very corner of the frame, remains circular and all problems disappear.

Astigmatism understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to 4.7%. It is a value on the borderline between very low and low level so in this category the lens one again fares quite well.

Defocused circles of light are quite pleasing to the eye. If you take a closer look you can notice a very slight trace of onion ring bokeh, most likely caused by aspherical elements. More objections you can have when it comes to mechanical vignetting which remains noticeable even on stopping down the aperture by 2 EV.
