10. Autofocus

When attached to the Sony ZV-E10 the autofocus of the tested lens is noiseless and works exceedingly fast. Running through the whole range and confirming the focus takes about 0.2-0.3 of a second no matter from what end you start. It is an excellent result. We also didn't notice any wavering of the mechanism or characteristic 'pumping' near the proper aim.

In case of a bit older but also very advanced Sony A7R III body, the performance was very similar – the autofocus mechanism was very fast and quiet.

The accuracy of the focusing mechanism was excellent for both bodies we used in our test. We didn't encounter any problems, no matter whether we worked in our studio or outside.

There was also no trace of front or back focus tendency – the lens hit always where we wanted it to do.
