1. Introduction

In times when digital reflex cameras dominated the market, SLT-type cameras in case of the Sony company, this producer offered two 135 mm telephoto portrait lenses. The first one was an 2.8/135 instrument with Smooth Trans Focus system, and the second one was the Sonnar T* 135 mm f/1.8 model, a result of cooperation with Zeiss. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to test any of them.

When first full frame mirrorless Sony devices were launched we were sure that, sooner or later, this company would also offer a 135 mm portrait lens. Such a launch took place in February 2019 – Sony showed the Sony FE 135 mm f/1.8 GM and we decided that we had to test it thoroughly.
