Pros:

  • very solid, metal barrel,
  • excellent image quality in the frame centre starting from f/1.2,
  • imperceptible longitudinal chromatic aberration,
  • slight lateral chromatic aberration,
  • lack of any serious problems with distortion.

Cons:

  • weak image quality on the edge of the frame near the maximum relative aperture,
  • weak correction of spherical aberration,
  • very high coma,
  • noticeable astigmatism,
  • distinct vignetting,
  • significant focus breathing,
  • unfavourable price/performance ratio.
The summary of our test is rather rough for the Voigtlander. If you are interested in buying a very fast standard lens designed for the APS-C sensor don't even bother looking at the Nokton and its price tag, amounting to over $1300. Buy instead the Laowa Argus 0.95/33 which is three times cheaper and also better when it comes to many aspects of optical prowess. End of the story.
