1. Introduction

The class of zoom lenses with angles of view ranging from ultra-wide to standard values or even slight telephoto is hardly a novelty on the market. In case of full frame the Panasonic Lumix S 20-60 mm f/3.5-5.6 was the first, launched already in 2020. We had to wait almost three years for a reaction of Sony because only in January 2023 they showed the Sony FE 20-70 mm f/4 G, a much praised and popular model.

Tamron also decided to launch n instrument in this class of equipment and they started off on a high note because in August 2023 they announced the 17-50 mm f/4 Di III VXD. You have to admit the bar is raised really high – on the wide angle of view, the most difficult to correct in such constructions, Tamron offers you almost 10 degrees more than the rivals. Of course they also provide the shortest focal length on the other end of the range but even there they reach the classic standard value.
