In order to make this test more interesting we want to show the shape of a bright star that we put in the frame corner for both ends of the focal spectrum. The results are in accordance to the image we got with the photos of a diode, although at 150 mm the size of the comma the star turns into due to the influence of the classic coma is even bigger.

Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to just 6.2%. It is a value on the borderline of very low and low levels so we don't have any reason to worry. It is also a result a tad higher than the result of the Tamron but in this case the differences are within the margin of error. It's also worth adding that the lowest astigmatism level we measured at 35 mm and the highest at 150 mm.
The appearance of out-of-focus images is very sensible for a zoom lens. There are no worrying signs at first glance but if you look closer you can notice slight traces of onion ring bokeh stemming from the presence of as many as three aspherical elements. You can have some reservations to the level of mechanical vignetting that makes itself felt even on stopping down the aperture by 2 EV and even then remains distinct.
