An 1.8/85 lens with such an optics complexity like in the case of the tested Samyang shouldn't experience any meaningful problems with the performanc against bright light. Unfortunately the situation is different. Light artifacts can be registered in too many positions, no matter what aperture value you employ.
A case when you stop down the aperture more distinctly and put the sun right outside the frame corner is especially bothersome – as a result a huge, yellow flare appears in your photo and it destroys your shot. As if it wasn't enough, one of the frame corners still remains overexposed by a distinct reflection even after moving the sun far away from your frame.
The final straw? Noticeable contrast loss when you take photo against the light. Definitely there are too many slip-ups in this category...
