Cons:
- solid, weather sealed barrel,
- very good image quality in frame centre,
- sensible image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor,
- slight longitudinal chromatic aberration,
- decent correction of lateral chromatic aberration,
- low astigmatism,
- negligible focus breathing,
- fast, accurate, and silent autofocus.
Cons:
- huge distortion on RAW files,
- noticeable coma,
- distinct vignetting,
- performance against bright light could have been better.
It is perhaps not as sharp as the rival Sony 1.8/16 and 1.8/20 models but, at the same time, costing less than 3200 PLN, it is by 20% cheaper. For some it might make the difference.
At the same time it's worth noticing that optics producers are rather skimpy when it comes to launches of lenses with focal lengths shorter than 20 mm. We should appreciate the fact that Panasonic offered such an L-mount lens only three years after the official launch of the whole system.
