1. Introduction

The mirrorless Fujifilm X system was launched in 2012 with the release of the Fujifilm X-Pro camera along with three fixed-focus lenses. Even the same year a zoom lens, designed for that system, was shown as well; it was the Fujinon XF 18–55 mm f/2.8–4 OIS. Almost from the very beginning Fuji offered a good, versatile device with a sensible aperture fastness. In the meantime also the cheaper Fujinon XC 16-50 MM F/3.5-5.6 OIS appeared on the market.

Almost all systems based on the APS-C sensor have in their line-up a lens which focal length range starts from 16-17 mm and ends at 50-55 mm with a fixed aperture fastness of f/2.8. The Fuji company also decided to add such an instrument to their offer and, at the beginning of 2015, they launched the Fujinon XF 16–55 mm f/2.8 R LM WR. Courtesy of a very quick reaction of the Fujifilm Polska it found a way to our editorial office pretty soon and was immediately tested. The results are presented in the following chapters, along with our opinion concerning that interesting optical instrument – enjoy!
