10. Autofocus

Our tested model is equipped with a SWM (Silent Wave Motor) so we did not expect a huge disaster here. The autofocus work is quiet and somewhat fast (but not very fast).

As far as the number of mistakes made in testing conditions, is concerned the results are good. The autofocus simply failed 7 percent of the time. However, in SWM/USM/HSM motor class lenses very good results would be 5%.

We did not observe back or front focusing.
