6. Distortion

Our 50th anniversary of F bayonet articles cycle showed that the distortion correction is not a strong point in a new 50 mm; the older Nikon lenses with 50 mm focal length were significantly better at correcting that fault. In fact, the distortion is visible because it reaches –2.01% barrel on full frame. The DX matrix result is better although the value of –0.82% still causes distortions which can be noticed on real photographs.
