Nikon Nikkor AF-S 50 mm f/1.4G

5. Chromatic aberration

Chromatic aberration is not a serious issue for the Nikkor tested here. At wide aperture, its level is low; by f/2.8 it rises to medium and it stays so until f/16. Nikkor performs here better than Sigma 1.4/50, which had a constant aberration of 0.11-0.13%, and almost as good as Pentax 1.4/55 SDM. It’s even a bit better than the older Nikkor 1.4/50D.
