9. Ghosting and flares

A significantly big front element positioned on the edge of the inner tube can cause some problems with bright and side light. As a matter of fact, at 80-200 mm focal lengths the work in these conditions can lead to such effects as shown below. The problem disappears in the 300-400 mm range, though.
