Voigtlander Nokton 25 mm f/0.95

14 December 2010
Arkadiusz Olech

9. Ghosting and flares

The weather hasn’t dealt kindly with us lately so we didn’t manage to check the performance of the Voigtlander against sunlight. Instead we pointed it at a lamp which was positioned in different places of the frame and outside the frame as well. When the lamp was in the very corner or just outside it, there were no unwanted artifacts visible. The situation worsened when the source of light was near the frame centre - it can be seen in the sample shots below. Fortunately neither the intensity of the flares nor their number is big although sometimes it does reach the medium level.
