Lens review

Canon EF 300 mm f/2.8 L IS II USM

9. Ghosting and flares

The lens works against bright light quite well. At the maximum relative aperture the flares are slight even with the Sun positioned in the frame corner. On stopping down the light artifacts become a bit more pronounced but even then it would be difficult to call them intensive. Let’s face it: while taking a photo using a 300 mm lens it rarely happens that the Sun is inside the frame. Overall in this category the lens shouldn’t cause you any problems.
