1. Introduction

After the launches of very successful A series 1.4/35 and 1.4/50 lenses people were wondering what Sigma would present next. There were rumours about 135 mm, 85 mm and 24 mm models and those who bet on the last focal length were the closest to the truth. In February 2015 the Sigma A 24 mm f/1.4 DG HSM was shown and already in March its first specimen were delivered to different testers. We would like to thank the Sigma ProCentrum company for a speedy delivery of the final model of the lens for testing purposes; the results you can find in the following chapters– enjoy your reading!

You are also invited to get acquainted with our test procedure, described in the article "How do we test lenses?" If you feel it’s still not enough, please go to our FAQ section where you can find some further explanation.
