7. Coma, astigmatism and bokeh

Coma is corrected in a perfect way, no matter whether you use the lens alone or you attach it to the teleconverter. In fact you could change the positions of the thumbnails shown below at random and there would be no difference at all – a round of applause!

Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to just 2.2% so was very low. After attaching the teleconverter its level increased to 3.5% but even then you can call it practically imperceptible.

When it comes to the appearance of defocused circles of light we had no reservations of any kind either. A slight rim on the edge and a noticeable influence of mechanical vignetting were the only things that stick out but both these effects are hardly pronounced. The performance in that category should be assessed positively.
