The Nikkor's Z 1.8/85 S performance against bright light is very good. Near the maximum relative aperture there are practically no problems at all; on stopping down the aperture you get more chances to catch some ghosting and flares but even then it would be difficult to talk about any real slip-ups.
The older Nikkor AF 50 mm f/1.8D dealt noticeably worse with bright light but the situation improved with the launch of the Nikkor AF-S 50 mm f/1.8G. Still both these construction had it easier as they are optically less complex.
What's curious, even the Zeiss Sonnar with its famous T* coatings performed a tad weaker in this category and the same can be said about the Tamron 1.8/45 VC.
