10. Autofocus

The performance of the autofocus of the Viltrox 1.4/23 when joined with the Fujifilm X-T2 is noiseless and also very quick. No matter from what end you start, running through the whole distance range and confirming the focus takes 0.2-0.3 of a second. It seems that result is aided by the construction of the focusing system as the distance it has to cover is quite short.

When it comes to the accuracy we have some reservations. The lens happened to miss both in studio and during outdoor sessions. Still you should keep in mind that, at the time of our test, the newest version of firmware was still unavailable so now the accuracy of the autofocus mechanism might be improved. Anyway, we weren't exactly impressed because, in our humble opinion, the misses happened too often for a lens with such parameters.

The lens didn't show any front or back focus tendencies.
