11. Summary

Pros:

solid and weather-sealed mechanical construction,
sensational image quality in the frame centre,
very good image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor,
good image quality on the edge of full frame,
negligible lateral chromatic aberration,
lack of problems with spherical aberration,
moderate distortion,
very good coma performance,
practically zero astigmatism,
excellent performance against bright light,
very nice out-of-focus areas,
silent and quick autofocus.

Cons:

huge level of vignetting that can be just weakly influenced by stopping down.

I don't think I have to write at length about this lens – you get a whole array of very serious assets, record-breaking resolution levels among them, and just one flaw. I don't doubt we deal here with an outstanding lens which fully deserves our 'Editor's Choice' badge. I just wish there were more of such products on the market!
