In this category the task of the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25 mm f/4 PRO was difficult indeed. Let's remind here that the lens consists of 16 elements positioned in 10 groups; it means as many as 20 air-to-glass surfaces that have to be covered by high quality anti-reflection coatings. Add to that a big front element, positioned quite shallowly inside the barrel, and a very wide range of angles of view, including angles of over 100 degrees, and you get a fine recipe for a ghosting-and-flare disaster.
Still, with the greatest pleasure I can say the Olympus managed to avoid a disaster in this category. Its images are perhaps not completely free of any artifacts but their number is quite limited and they aren't especially bothersome. What's more, the overall contrast of photos remains very sensible. Taking into account the difficulty level in this category, the performance of the M.Zuiko 8-25 mm should be assessed positively.
