10. Focusing

The Voigtlander Nokton 35 mm f/1.2 is a manual lens and you can focus it via a dedicated ring, quite comfortable to move. With greater aperture values DOF scale might help you as it is situated, as it befits a good quality instrument, on the body of the lens.

Voigtlander Nokton 35 mm f/1.2 X / Z - Focusing

When you work by f/1.2 and f/1.4 the DOF scale stops being useful – only a screen or a viewfinder might help you there. Fortunately the lens features contacts and can pass information to a camera; when you move the focus ring your image is enlarged automatically and its outlines are highlighted. That's why proper focusing, even near the maximum relative aperture, is fast and relatively easy.
