8. Vignetting

Looking at the thumbnails below you can see that the vignetting near the maximum relative aperture makes itself felt very keenly here.

By f/1.8 the brightness loss in the frame corners reaches a very distinct level of 44% (-1.65 EV). On slight stopping down to f/2.0 you see the vignetting decrease to the value of 39% (-1.44 EV). The problem stops being a nuisance near f/2.8 where the vignetting drops to 14% (-0.42 EV) and it becomes completely imperceptible (4%) by f/4.0.
