A high number of optical elements means a lot of air-to-glass surfaces which might reflect light. Such a construction is always a big challenge for optics constructors and anti-reflective coatings. Unfortunately the Panaleica doesn’t deal with flares in a proper way. There are a lot of reflections which can be observed at different combinations of focal lengths, apertures and positions of the source of light. What annoyed us the most? A big white artifact, taking a huge portion of the frame, which appears when you move the sun a bit outside the corner of your photo. In this category we cannot praise the tested lens at all…
