The Fujinon 2.8/80 doesn’t perform the best when positioned against bright light but the results cannot be called abysmal either. In many situations flares won’t make your life difficult at all but there are some positions of the sun in the frame when the chances to catch them increase noticeably. You have to take into account purple colouring and bright, radial beams.
