7. Coma, astigmatism and bokeh

Coma makes itself felt slightly already in the corners of APS-C but it is almost not a problem in that place. Real issues can be noticed in the corners of full frame where, at the maximum relative aperture, it is quite easy to spot that aberration. Fortunately on stopping down by 1 EV you can reduce it to a medium level at the most.

Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to 9.3%. It is a moderate value which shouldn’t make you worried.

We don’t have any reservations concerning out-of-focus images either. It’s true you can notice a series of concentric rings inside (most likely due to employing aspherical elements) but they aren’t especially intense. In the frame centre the rim is very weak, a bit more distinct on the frame edge. Mechanical vignetting can be called acute only at the maximum relative aperture.
