1. Introduction

Every serious photographic system has to feature macro lenses - instruments with a 1:1 mapping scale. In case of the Nikon Z mount such lenses appeared already in June 2021 when two models were launched at once: the Nikkor Z MC 50 mm f/2.8 and the Nikkor Z MC 105 mm f/2.8 VR S. The first one we tested right after its launch, the second one had to wait a bit.

In recent months me managed to test two interesting macro models, namely the Tamron 90 mm f/2.8 Di III Macro VXD and the Venus Optics LAOWA FFII 90 mm f/2.8 CA-Dreamer Macro 2X. Both of them were Nikon Z mount versions. In such a case we decided to catch up a bit and complement our database with the test of the Nikkor Z MC 105 mm f/2.8 VR S.
