In order to make our test more interesting we also decided to show the image of a bright star put in the frame corner. These photos confirm the conclusions from the paragraph above. Additionally the coma doesn't disappear completely even on stopping down the aperture to f/5.6. It seems that small dimensions of the tested lens force some compromises also in this category.

Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to 10.7%. It is a value on the borderline between low and average values so you don't have any serious reason to worry. We should also add that the highest astigmatism level we noticed at the longest focal length.
Out-of-focus areas in the 14-24 mm lens aren't crucial because such an instrument is not intended to separate nicely the photographed object from its background. You can say you get here exactly what was promised, circles of light with a lot of heterogeneous areas inside and a bright rim. What's surprising, mechanical vignetting is kept well in check and it disappears completely already on stopping down the aperture by 1 EV. Of course you have to remember the fact that this test was performed at the longest focal length where it was actually possible to get circles of sensible size at different aperture values.
