The result in the flare resistance category was probably easy to predict. The lens's compact dimensions did not make it easy to accommodate numerous aperture blades and notches, while the manufacturer's lack of experience in this area certainly did not help either. As a result, the Viltrox 26 mm f/2.8 performs very poorly in terms of flare resistance and fares worse in this category than the Nikkor.
