Usage

The ring works smoothly and lightly. Even though it’s a slim version, it’s convenient to use.

Summary

2nd place in the overall ranking (29.4/37.5)
The transmission curve fits in the range 70-80%, the local minimum at around 600 nm is not larger than 10%. The extinction coefficient of around 0.4/1000 is good for a foil polarizer. Violet color is not extinguished entirely, but it’s also the affliction of other filters. C1 and C2 graphs indicate that we’re dealing with a quarter-wave plate of zeroth order designed for the middle of visible spectrum. This filter costs two or three times less than some competitors’ products, still it showed them their place. It copes very well with extinguishing an unwanted direction of light polarization, the mean transmission is large too (reaches 38%). It was made of top shelf materials, maximum grades for homogeneity and scattering. Looks like the only major flaw are flares. Still, it didn’t prevent this filter from winning in our econo-ranking.

The editorial staff of lenstip.com have decided to award this filter with “Good purchase according to LensTip.com” for being the first on the list in the econo-ranking of polarizing filters.
