Sigma 105 mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro

6. Distortion

Stabilized macro devices of Canon and Nikon showed distortion levels which could be assessed as zero. First, even if we deal with results ranging from –0.2% to –0.3% they are practically unnoticeable in real photos. Secondly, taking into account the fact that our measurement errors in this category are on the level of 0.1%, these results, being within the limits of the classic 3-sigma criterion, are in accordance with the statement that the distortion in these lenses amounts to zero. The chart below shows that the Sigma fares very much like its rivals in this category so all three lenses present here an even and very high level.
