Older 1.4/50 class lenses which construction was based on double gauss weren't completely distortion-free. In some cases on full frame distortion could reach even -2%. The situation changed with an introduction of more complex optical constructions which made distortion almost imperceptible. It's enough we remind here the result of the Samyang AF 50 mm f/1.4 FE which, on full frame, had distortion of +0.44% or the Sigma A 50 mm f/1.4 DG HSM which featured just a trace of distortion, officially -0.12%.

Compared to that the results of the Nokton 1.2/50 are excellent. Perhaps the lens doesn't impress with the number of elements but its distortion correction is great. On the smaller APS-C sensor you don't get any chances to notice that aberration as it amounts to just +0.01% so, within the margin of error, is zero. On full frame distortion won't be bothersome at all because our measurements showed a result of just +0.29%. A round of applause!
