6. Distortion

In this category the performance of the tested lens is very curious. As long as you work on the smaller APS-C sensor distortion won't be bothersome almost at all, with a result of just +0.07%. It's a value, within the margin of error, in accordance with zero level.

When you test a lens with an angle of view of as much as 84 degrees, more often than not you expect it to have barrel distortion. Meanwhile the Sigma C 24 mm f/3.5 DG DN surprises you by showing distinct pincushion distortion which value we determined as +1.40%. Overall it is not an especially high level so there are no reasons to complain, especially that the Sigma simply outclasses its direct rivals in this area.

The Tamron and the Sony gave up on distortion correction and both featured barrel distortion of a really huge level; the Samyang tried to improve its result with the help of moustache distortion.
