Marumi products are valued by photographers on account of good price/quality ratio. Filters with DHG symbol are equipped with improved antireflection coatings and the glass edges are blackened to avoid internal reflections. This model is equipped with hydrophobic WPC layers.

Usage

The filter didn’t create any problems during the tests. The ring turns smoothly and pleasantly.

The transmission rises with wavelength, in the visible spectrum range from 60% to 80%. This may lead to warming colors. The transmission of violet and blue color, which should be extinguished, is at the level of 5%. The extinction coefficient of about 1/1000 is an average result of foil polarizers. C1 and C2 graphs indicate that we’re dealing with a quarter-wave plate of zeroth order designed for the middle of visible spectrum. There was no occasion to test the hydrophobic coatings, but this would by no means improve the results of other tests and measurements. Without a doubt this is the worst filter in the field. For 199 PLN we get a polarizer of an average extinction coefficient and enormous scattering, which treats to a series of flares, halo and lowering the contrast. Unfortunately, this is the test of polarizing and not effect filters, hence that last place.
