1. Introduction

The history of Voigtlander Apo Lanthar lenses goes back to the 50s of the 20th century, when they appeared on the market with a medium format Besa mount. In the 21st century, the Apo Lanthar devices were resurected after the takeover of Voigtlander by the Japanese Cosina company and offered with different full frame mirrorless systems mounts.

The Apo Lanthar 65 mm f/2 Aspherical 1:2 Macro, presented in 2017, was a forerunner. One year later the Apo Lanthar 110 mm f/2.5 Macro was shown, followed by the Apo Lanthar 50 mm f/2 Aspherical in 2020 and the Apo Lanthar 35 mm f/2 Aspherical in 2021.
