The performance against bright light is a huge challenge for the Sigma. After all you deal here with a fast lens with a huge angle of view. As if it wasn't enough, its construction features as many as 12 groups of lenses, 24 air-to-glass surfaces where you can catch unwanted reflections. Small physical dimensions of the instrument only add more problems as they limit the number of places where you can put inner ribbing and baffles.
Despite the bar being raised so high the Sigma managed to perform really well. When you work near the maximum relative aperture there are practically no problems at all. On more significant stopping down of the apertures you can notice some flares but they are small, few and far between, and not especially intensive. What's more, in all cases images are properly contrasted. A round of applause for three times!
