Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between vertical and horizontal MTF50 function values, amounted to 3.6% and it is a very low value. In this area the Sony 200-600 mm deserves to be praised.

Defocused circles of light look very nice, especially if you take into account the fact that you deal here with a zoom lens, with an aspherical element inside. Here you really don't have any reason to complain: light spread inside the circles is even, the intensity the outer rim - negligible, and mechanical vignetting disappears completely on stopping down the aperture by 2 EV.
